| Automotive Information Europe | Mercedes cuts creation in Germany, Hungary on chip shortages

MUNICH — Daimler is lessening Mercedes-Benz production at three vegetation in Germany and briefly halting output its manufacturing facility in Hungary due to a scarcity of semiconductors.

The automaker has launched limited-time performing for workers at the Mercedes crops in Sindelfingen, Rastatt and Bremen in Germany.

In Rastatt, output will be lessened until finally the end of subsequent 7 days. In Sindelfingen and Bremen, output will be cut right up until the close of the week.

The Kecskemet factory will halt manufacturing for three months until mid-August.

Daimler said it could not give a prognosis about when the offer scarcity of selected semiconductor parts will be cleared.

“The scenario is nevertheless risky and we are completely reevaluating what this means for Mercedes-Benz production,” a Daimler spokeswoman explained to Automotive News Europe.

In Sindelfingen, production has only been stopped in some spots and the automaker will carry on to create as regular hugely financially rewarding huge luxurious automobiles. At Sindelfingen’s Manufacturing unit 56 plant,  which builds the S-Course sedan, Mercedes-Maybach S-Course and the EQS complete-electrical sedan, generation is not impacted.
