An off-responsibility county corrections officer was killed Sunday when a auto slammed into his stopped vehicle on the shoulder of Route 55 in Vineland.
Joshua Beardsworth, 25, of Pittsgrove Township, was traveling northbound when he stopped his automobile on the ideal shoulder of the highway, according to a New Jersey Point out Law enforcement spokesman. Police have not said why he stopped.
A northbound automobile driven by a 27-yr-old male from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, struck the rear of Beardsworth’s automobile just right after 7:30 p.m.
Beardsworth was pronounced useless at a healthcare facility, police mentioned.
The other driver was hospitalized with really serious injuries.
The crash continues to be less than investigation and no costs had been filed as of Tuesday early morning.
Beardsworth was a married father of two, in accordance to his obituary, and worked as a corrections officer with the Camden County Juvenile Detention Centre.
