Mercedes-Benz of Billings is formally underneath new ownership as of Thursday.

Billionaire founder of WeatherTech ground mats, Dave MacNeil, bought the dealership from Rimrock Automobile Group entrepreneurs Steve Zabawa and John Soares, soon after the two Billings businessmen started separating their partnered ownership in Rimrock Car.

MacNeil and WeatherTech’s president Pat Womack ended up in Montana to hash out and signal the offer this 7 days — a longtime drive for MacNeil, who manufactured a living selling Mercedes cars and trucks before founding the quality floor mat small business in his garage much more than 30 years ago. MacNeil will be the sole proprietor of the dealership, but MacNeil and Womack will be co-vendor principals in the enterprise overseeing the store’s operations from afar.

There are currently 22 workforce at the dealership and MacNeil’s firm wants to continue to keep every single employee who needs to continue to be, claimed Womack.

As for the business, MacNeil has options to “raise the bar” and develop a leading, luxurious-auto dealership in Montana.

“We want to make this the location spot for luxurious, not just auto buys, but services,” stated Womack. “We believe there’s a truly excellent group right here now. They just will need the guidance that we’re going to give them.”

Variations in work will come not from permitting folks go but by incorporating staff members. The new owner hopes to add five to 10 new workforce in parts such as services, bookkeeping, maintenance and gross sales.
